Each of Planteco’s corporate officers holds a Ph.D. in the Geosciences or Environmental Science. Planteco’s president and Program Manager, Valentine A. Nzengung, holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and a Ph.D. in Environmental Geochemistry and is an internationally recognized environmental scientist for his work on development and evaluation of environmental cleanup technologies. The Project Manager, Dr. Walter O’Niell, is a P.G. who holds a Ph.D. in Hydrogeology and has worked in the environmental consulting industry for more than 10 years. He has over 20 years experience in management and coordination of domestic and international environmental field projects.
Safety performance is PLANTECO’s primary focus for projects. The Safety Manager and Field Supervisor, Hope Thomas has more than five years experience working in the USEPA Superfund Program in Regions 2,4,5 and 7 as a safety and industrial hygiene professional. Her experience includes supervision of over 800,000 man hours worked without an OSHA recordable incident on thermal incineration, in-situ and ex-situ stabilization and dig and haul projects. In addition, Ms. Thomas is proficient in industrial hygiene and has directly managed several remediation and hazardous material maintenance projects.
PLANTECO’s data management and Geographic Information System (GIS) department is headed by Dr. Odemari Mbuya who has more than five years experience in application of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and GIS. PLANTECO’s GIS/Remote Sensing Specialist, Mr. Godlove Ntumgia holds a Master’s degree. His experience as a GIS/Photogrammetry Technician includes GIS project design and supervision; data collection; integration/conversion; reprojection; spatial, network, and statistical analysis; metadata creation and maintenance; photogrammetric production from orientation and triangulation to planimetric feature collection and generation; and image processing.
Planteco field staff is experienced and well trained for long-term monitoring and remedial system operation and maintenance. All their technicians go through a rigorous training program. Their Senior Field Technician, Mr. Eric Crisp, has served as an Operations Specialist with the United States Naval Reserve in Atlanta, Georgia. He is trained in various security functions and warfare operations for deployment with Carrier Group 8 Staff. He has more than five years experience performing field sampling and measurement according to EPA protocols; operating and maintaining remedial systems; investigating various site properties including hydraulic conductivity, water table geometry, aquifer interconnections and contaminant interactions; and preparation of reports to clients and governmental oversight agencies.
